dot-CON will premiere in HDTV at Cannes

SEATTLE, Wash., -- May 3, 2000 --The Big Twenty has nailed down high-definition equipment to premiere dot-CON--the first indie fully produced in HDTV--at this month's Cannes Film Festival. "It was our sincere belief that showing this feature in anything but HD would be wrong," intoned Big Twenty's Sr. Producer Matt Lubetich.

However, landing that format wasn't easy. "Luckily, with help from both SONY North America and SONY Europe, we were able to finally get the best HD projection system available," said Kenneth Cashman, Producer for The Big Twenty. "dot-CON will be the first HD feature screened at the market, and unexpectedly, the market was not set up for HD." The feature will premiere on May 18, at 9:30am in Auditorium K (Theatre Bory).

Lubetich continued to say that Sony Corp. is really excited about our efforts. "Not only will Sony be demonstrating their new Alta-Cine camera's, but they now have a feature film shot on Sony camera's which they can direct potential clients to screen".

The Big Twenty will also be screening REDEMPTION--a dark story of forbidden love, drug addiction, and prostitution--REDEMPTION will screen in Palais V at the Cannes Market on May 19, also at 9:30 am.
