World's only national, all high-definition,
digital television network broadcasts
award-winning satire of the "Dot Com" era.

Seattle, WA, December 4, 2001 - Matt Lubetich of the Big Twenty announced today that HDNet, the world's only national television network broadcasting all high-definition digital content, has secured exclusive U.S. broadcast/DVD/DVHS rights to exhibit the pioneering, award-winning high definition digital feature, dot.CON, in the innovative, high definition format.

Written by Amy Chilcote and Bill Carleton, directed by Carleton, and produced in Seattle by William J. Murphy, Matt Lubetich, and Dogs Love Cheese, L.L.C., dot.CON is a story of love and war in the long-lost "Dot Com" era of Seattle and Silicon Valley. The movie follows the tribulations of a fictional start-up company, PrivyTrack.com, as it seeks venture capital. Hilarious complications ensue when the CEO (played by NPR's Ken Boynton) seduces a high-powered corporate lawyer (played by Brett Paesel, HBO's Bob and Dave), who also happens to be the disgruntled wife of the company's soon-to-be CTO.

"The exposure in this market should work well for us," says Matt Lubetich, producer and sales agent for dot.CON, and the man responsible for re-branding the movie from its original title, "Back Spot Turn."

The HDNet deal was developed by Lucia Fabroni of HD.net and Mr. Lubetich and finalized in November, just prior to the initial broadcast of dot.CON in prime time on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2001. Scheduled times and program information can be found at www.HD.net.

Shot in high definition in and around Seattle, dot.CON's filmmakers worked with various studios in the local area to complete the project, including: American Production Services, Microsoft Studios, and Bad Animals. dot.CON won a Silver Award of Excellence at the Emerald City Awards held by the ITVA/MCAI to recognize professionalism and production excellence in the entire Pacific Northwest media industry. The show's popular trailer, "How to Start a Successful Dot Com," was encoded by Loudeye.com and is widely seen on the Internet (see e.g. "Back Spot Turn" at http://www.loudeye.com/show/video/).
